Cue picture of Miranda Priestly's long-suffering PA with a machete - actually I made that up, but she does look haughty on the cover. She's really anxious about her lack of grit, too .

Never mind the mockery, she may have a point. In a list of value-for-money actresses by Forbes, Hathaway comes in at number two, just behind Kristen Stewart (not smiley, not vanilla). On average, Hathaway's films earn $45,67 million for every dollar she's paid. Compare that with, say, Nicole Kidman, who at the peak of her career, brought in just over $1 for every dollar she was paid.

The Oscar nomination Hathaway can expect to receive for Les Mis may help make up the grit shortfall - or, at least, the performance she gives as Fantine might. The fact is Hathaway just isn't a natural rebel, and no amount of styling will alter that, just as a heap of "directional" catwalk outfits hasn't yet convinced anyone that Emma Watson is anything other than a nicely brought-up girl from the home counties.

The controversial couple kept it low key on NYE, but couldn't pass up the chance to inform people subtly on Instagram that they woke up together the next day.

Rihanna's first message of the new year? "Good morning! Still haven't slept lol #hello2013!" She posted a picture of her eyes peering out from under a comforter.

The very same black-and-white polka dot comforter appears in Brown's Instagram. Titled "Mornings," his photo showed a view of the pad from his bed.

Paparazzo Killed While Following Justin Bieber

We just heard over the radio, Virgin Radio Dubai to be specific, that a celebrity gossip photographer was trailing Bieber's Ferrari last night when it was pulled over for a routine traffic stop.

Upon being told by an officer to move back because his shooting pictures of the car was creating an unsafe situation, this cameraman was hit by an oncoming vehicle and killed.

The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating the incident, but authorities say neither drugs nor alcohol played a role for anyone involved.

Moreover, it has now been determined that Bieber was not even in his car at time of the tragedy.

This is by far the most disturbing, but it is not the first incident involving Justin and the paparazzi on the road.

In July, Bieber was cited for excessive speeding as he tried to elude a photographer on his tail; and in May, the artist was accused of battery by a "journalist" who was allegedly blocking his car and claimed Bieber shoved him when he refused to move.

Kim Kardashian battling a Holiday Weight Gain

Kim paid a visit to the gym on Thursday as she has been battling a bit of a holiday weight gain. 

The reality TV star, who told fans on Twitter she was 'finally' having a day off work, spent her spare time training at an LA fitness centre.

The star, whose weight has fluctuated over the years, recently recruited Gwyneth Paltrow‘s trainer, Tracy Anderson, in a bid to keep her curves in check.

Also, for Kim Kardashian, one visit to the salon in a week isn't enough. Just one day after getting her tresses done, the curvaceous reality star had a busy Friday morning, visiting two more hair salons in Beverly Hills on Friday. The 32-year-old covered up her famous curves with a tan trench coat wrapped loosely over a black mini dress and a black quilted Chanel bag to match.

Kim arrived at the salon with her hair wet and wild and emerged from the salon with her long black hair blown straight.

Wearing high heeled black leather booties, Kim managed to juggle her phone and a large cup as she successfully strode out of the Beverly Hills salon, unlike her trip on Thursday.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashian's star's penchant for stilettos caused her to lose her footing as she visited another stylist in West Hollywood just the day before, falling not just once but twice on her outing.

Kanye wants Kim Kardashian to call him!!

Forget marriage proposals and alleged plans to have children together. Just how serious are things between Kanye West and Kim Kardashian?

According to an Us Weekly source, the rapper "doesn't like to be tied down by technology" and did not own a cellphone... until his new girlfriend came along.

"It frustrated Kim. She had to call him through a bodyguard," the source said of Kanye living in the 1980s, adding that he finally caved, joined the 21st century and purchased a phone.

But "he only uses it for Kim," the mole claims.

And, we presume, to call the paparazzi and let them know where he and Kim will "dating" that day.

Kim Kardashian Admits: "I copy others...."

Well.... At least she admits it, right?? Plus, like her or not, this woman is a stunner!!

Kim Kardashian copies other stars' looks and flips through magazines for style inspiration.

The reality TV star says it is flattering to be considered a fashion icon by her fans but admits she looks to fellow celebrities and fashion magazines for inspiration like everybody else.

Kim likes the feeling of being an inspiration to others though.

"It feels so weird [to be considered a style icon], I mean I want everyone to be an individual and be themselves but it's also flattering to be inspirational to people, or for them to be inspired by a certain hairstyle or make-up look or little outfits," she told UK TV show Lorraine.

"Because I do that with other people, I look through magazines and I'm like, 'I like her hair here and her make-up there and I love this outfit or these shoes'. It's very flattering."

Kim also spoke of her favourite fashion items during the interview. The 31-year-old beauty revealed she owns "14 Birkins" and named her favourite designer as Celine. She added that she couldn't live without a simple white dress from her own Sears Kardashian collection, before discussing UK fashion.

"I think [British style] it's really good and really different. Everyone is so individual, everyone has a different style. Every person I see has their own, totally individual style," she said. "I love to mix highs and lows [designer fashion and high street clothing], I mean I think it's always a good balance to mix. I like to mix it up for sure."

Kim Kardashian is said to be learning French – to please her boyfriend Kanye West. The rapper is getting her started on the lingo after she bungled her lines in a restaurant in Paris.

“Kim ended up asking for frogs’ legs rather than chicken when she ordered in Paris recently but as Kanye is pretty good at French he corrected her gaffe,” a leading daily has quoted a source as saying.

“He’s now teaching her the basics and has offered to buy her lessons. They’ve spent a fair bit of time there of late and Kim has grown more and more fond of it. He’s already got them Rosetta Stone language books,” the source added.
