Suri Cruise to launch her own fashion line?

The seven-year-old daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes has reportedly signed a £1.5million deal to design her own clothing line.

According to tabloid The Sun, the seven-year-old daughter of Hollywood actors Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes will put her name to a fashion line called 'Suri'.

The fashion-loving youngster, who was reported to have amassed a £100,000 shoe collection by the time she was five, will be paid £1.5million for the collection aimed at young girls.

A department store in New York, where Suri resides with her mother, will stock the line initially. If it is successful, it will be rolled out across stores in North America.

Chanel marks 100 years with short film

Alongside a cast of top models, Keira Knightley plays Gabrielle 'Coco' Chanel in a short film by creative director Karl Lagerfeld chronicling the opening of the Chanel boutique in 1913.

The year is 1913 and Gabrielle 'Coco' Chanel - played by British actress Keira Knightley - and her aunt Adrienne (Clotilde Hesme) have just set up shop in the well-heeled holiday town of Deauville in northern France.

Coco Chanel (Knightley) fits a hat upon hard-to-please society lady played by Amanda Harlech.

At the time, Chanel primarily specialised in minimalist hats, which were a stark contrast to the over-embellished styles that were the current rage.

"She has absolutely no taste," say a pair of local maids who pass by her shop window, clearly shocked by her pared-back design aesthetic.

But slowly and surely, Chanel starts building up a clientele of strong-minded, wealthy women who know exactly what they want. Cue guest appearances from Chanel's favourite people: model Stella Tennant plays noblewoman Lady Jane Grey and has her hats shipped to England; visionary actress Eve Lavallière is brought to life by Tallulah Harlech while her mother Lady Amanda Harlech (Karl Lagerfeld's muse) is a hard-to-please society lady.

Tom Ford 'unhappy' with people's reaction on his latest collection

Tom Ford has admitted that his choice of venue was probably to blame for the mixed reviews his autumn/winter 2013 collection received.

The designer's autumn/winter 2013 show in February saw him return to the traditional catwalk format for the first time since he was creative director of Gucci. Consisting of clashing prints and colours, evening gowns garnished with sequinned, comic book-style blasts and "cross cultural multi ethnic" references, many were surprised by the departure from Ford's usually slick, sexily understated aesthetic.

"I expected a more positive reaction in a stronger way. And what I got was a sort of stunned reaction. I couldn't read [it] when people started to come backstage - what they thought. But that simple fact was proof of not getting the reaction that I thought I was going to get," Ford told WWD , before going on to admit that the reviews were "lukewarm".

So, what did he do wrong? "I think that I chose the venue inappropriately."

Said venue was Lancaster House, a mansion in London's plush St James area. Not content with its extravagant, gilded rooms that Queen Victoria was allegedly "jealous" of, Ford lined the sweeping staircase with 75 devastatingly handsome, perfectly-groomed male models all in matching Ford suits with matching haircuts. He also had dapper waiters serving Champagne, as well as ushers - and liberally spritzed all of them in his Noir fragrance.

A Special Birthday Letter to Lady Fozaza

FG10 has received this message from a fan to Lady Fozaza's Alanoud Badr on her Birthday...

I set out on a narrow way many years ago
Hoping I would find true love along the broken road
But I got lost a time or two
Wiped my brow and kept pushing through
I couldn't see how every sign pointed straight to you
Every long lost dream led me to where you are
Others who broke my heart they were like Northern stars
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you

I think about the years I spent just passing through
I'd like to have the time I lost and give it back to you
But you just smile and take my hand
You've been there you understand
It's all part of a grander plan that is coming true
Now I'm just rolling home
Into my lover's arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you

That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you.

Happy Birthday to the one.

Forever.

Beyoncé slammed for Super Bowl outfit

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals have released a statement slamming Beyoncé's python, iguana and cow skin costume.

Following nothing but praise for her spectacular Super Bowl appearance, Beyoncé has today found herself on the end of some disappointed words from PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals).

The organisation says the singer "missed the mark" when it came to backing humane fashion by sporting a leather Rubin Singer bodysuit which was made of python, iguana and cow skin for her much-lauded performance.

That's what's BANNED from the Grammy Awards

Grammy Awards broadcaster CBS issue a 'wardrobe advisory' notice ahead of Sunday's ceremony to encourage flesh-flashing celebrities to cover up.

Celebrities are finding ever more inventive ways of baring their assets on the red carpet. Side-boobs, waistline-necklines and backless dresses, which sit so low they reveal something of 'what lies beneath', have become the norm. And that's before we've even got into the thigh-split dresses that so love to make a feature of a girl's underpants.

Such rampant, flesh-baring antics have now driven CBS, the broadcaster of Sunday's 55th Grammy Awards, to take the unusual step of sending out a 'Standard And Practice Wardrobe Advisory' notice to all attendees, containing a strict dress code.

'Please be sure that buttocks and female breasts are adequately covered', it begins.
'Thong type costumes are problematic. Please avoid exposing bare fleshy under curves of the buttocks and buttock crack.'

Addressing the growing side-boob trend, the notice cautions 'Bare sides or under curvature of the breasts is also problematic. Please avoid sheer see-through clothing that could possibly expose female breast nipples.'

Sorry… female breast nipples? Who wrote this? So male's nipples are okay??!!!

First look: Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda couture spring/summer 2013

The top-heavy presence of innumerable headset-wearing security guards was an unexpected add-on to proceedings at last week's Dolce & Gabbana's "Alta Moda" show in Milan. But the surprise didn't last for long. For the 80-strong audience included Arabian princesses (one in a strikingly short ostrich feather dress), African heiresses, Italian contessas, Russian oligarchs' wives and Chinese millionairesses.

Along with Monica Bellucci and five Vogue editors (including Alexandra Shulman from London and Anna Wintour from New York), they had flown in from the couture shows in Paris - "really not so great, this season", reported one guest, "with the exception of Chanel and Valentino" - to see the Italian designers' second collection of uncompromisingly lavish couture.

This Alta Moda "Milan" collection, sometimes virginal and sometimes vixenish, was much more focused that the extraordinary debut show held in Sicily last summer. And just like that first show, it was far, far more beautiful to watch than the vast majority of fashion collections I have seen.

Vittorio Missoni still Missing.... but Fashion Show to Go Ahead

Missoni's autumn/winter 2013 menswear show will go ahead in Milan this Sunday despite the continuing search for missing family member Vittorio.

Missoni have confirmed that their forthcoming autumn/winter 2013 menswear show will go ahead this Sunday in Milan, despite the continuing search for missing family member and marketing director Vittorio Missoni.

The company made the decision to press ahead with the show despite the family's circumstances "in order to give continuity", reports WWD . It is assumed that none of the Missoni family, including Vittorio's creative director sister Angela and his founder parents Ottavio and Rosita, will be present.

The 58 year-old was returning from a holiday on the Venezuelan island of Los Roques with his partner, Maurizia Castiglioni, two friends and two crew members when the plane they were travelling on disappeared. Searches by the Venezuelan authorities continue, but as yet no trace of the aircraft or its passengers has been found.

Jessica Alba: She Wears It Well

Actress Jessica Alba gets in early on spring's grunge trend.

Jessica Alba is so beautiful she'd look good wearing just her eco-friendly tote but today we're admiring the-31-year old's early season run on grunge.

Tartan trousers, hobnail boots, shapeless white T-shirt. Why, we could be at a Nirvana gig back in the day. OK, perhaps a little too polished for a crowdsurfer but nevertheless Alba is totes on trend.

Plenty of designers have given a spring/summer 2013 nod to the 'Come As You Are' era, including Dries Van Noten, who for my favorite collection of the shows, put plaid shirts, jackets and pyjama trousers with florals, sequinned skirts and more plaid for a nonchalantly slinky take on the Nineties.

And because tartan/plaid has been around for a while now is the perfect time to make like Alba and buy into the trend early - and at discount. I just had a sneaky peek at asos.com and found heaps of the stuff on sale. And maybe I did make a small purchase myself.

Michael Kors OUT of "Project Runway"

Yep.. It's true!! - Michael Kors is out at "Project Runway."

LOS ANGELES (TheWrap.com) -- Fashion designer Kors will not be a judge on the Lifetime reality competition when it returns for its 11th season on January 24, Lifetime said Tuesday. Instead, designer Zac Posen will join Heidi Klum, Nina Garcia and Tim Gunn as a featured judge.

Lifetime told TheWrap that Kors is vacating his judge's position due to scheduling conflicts.
"Due to the back-to-back film schedule for seasons 10 and seasons 11 this summer, Michael was not able to commit to all the dates required for filming season 11," a Lifetime spokeswoman said in a statement. "Always part of the 'Project Runway' family, Michael will be seen in the future on the show, and we are excited to confirm that Michael will be back as a judge for the season 11 finale."

Kors' departure isn't the only change that's coming to "Project Runway" for its upcoming season. This cycle, the competing designers will be made to work together for every challenge, where they will have to work together while ensuring that their creations stand out on the runway. It's hoped this will lead to riveting combination of collaboration and backbiting.

Guests judges for the upcoming season include Bette Midler, Susan Sarandon, Miranda Lambert, John Legend, Emmy Rossum, Kristin Davis and others.

Not one to be outdone, even by her own flesh and blood , Victoria Beckham has today announced that she is set to launch a fully transactional e-commerce website next spring.

Victoriabeckham.com promises to offer "unprecedented access to the designer's ideas and creative process", as well as personal edits by Beckham and unrivalled customer service.
The site will sell the former Spice Girl's accessories, eyewear, denim and her main collection's sister label Victoria, Victoria Beckham.

Givenchy to take a break from Paris Haute Couture Week

The French couture label helmed by Riccardo Tisci won't be presenting a collection in January 2013.

A look from the Givenchy haute couture by Riccardo Tisci autumn/winter 2012 collection

In recent seasons Givenchy had opted for more intimate, still life-style showcases but has planned not to share its spring/summer 2013 with press in January, reports WWD.

The label plans to continue making haute couture gowns and will welcome clients to its atelier, but the only glimpse we'll get of Riccardo Tisci's signature gothic glamour is when celebrities will chose to wear creations on the red carpet. Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway and Beyoncé are loyal wearers of the label.

London Fashion Week: Tom Ford spring/summer 2013

Chastity and perversity are the twin themes of Tom Ford's spring/summer 2013 collection.

Tom Ford's style certainly polarises opinion these days, between those who find it backward looking and those who regard it as classic. The vote splits as soon as you're ushered through Ford HQ in Victoria and into the lifts by the same breed of chisel-jawed, side parted, uncannily smooth haired flunkies as the ones who used to line the route to the Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent shows a decade ago. All of them, it turns out, hired for the day from a model agency.

Some like the intimacy and the wink to the past (or maybe it's more of a mugging). Others, not so much. "A good journalist friend told me to quit talking at these things," Ford confessed, as he tapped away on his iPad, cueing up the models and controlling the soundtrack.

Naturally being Ford, it wasn't an entirely wordless affair, which is a good thing. The banter is what personalises these presentations. Two words in particular couldn't be dispensed with. "Chastity and perversity," he explained, were the twin themes of this collection.

Chastity came in the guise of camel cashmere sweaters, taupe skirts and long high necked black paper taffeta column dresses; perversity showed up in the form of black patent zip pencil skirts, caped backs, and the multi buckled leather strap, bondage sandal-boots.

There were plenty of what have become classic Ford tropes: backless black fitted chiffon dresses with cupped breasts (very 50 Shades of Grey ) and long, slashed, beaded skirts and skinny pants, updated this time thanks to an injection of sportiness.

Tom Ford's Advice for Gisele When She Stops Being Hot

Tom Brady covers VMAN‘s fall issue–and while the accompanying interview and editorial focus on New Englands Patriot quarterback and his growing family with supermodel wife Gisele, it’s what Brady’s interviewer Tom Ford had to say that really caught our attention.

While the two Toms are discussing Gisele’s work as a model, Ford says, “[Modeling] is a horrible job. I feel really sorry for models. I’m serious. It’s a horrible job. They get rejected and treated like they’re not even people.” Ford is not one to sugarcoat.

But wait, there’s more!

Ford then offered up some nice and encouraging advice to Brady’s 32-year-old supermodel (and officially pregnant!) wife:

“This sounds negative, but when you’re considered one of the most beautiful women in the world, it’s very, very hard when that starts to slip away. It’s hard to feel good about yourself when people react to you differently. And, Gisele, I hope you’re not reading this, because it’s going to sound so negative but I know through some of my best friends who are really famous actresses–I’m not going to mention their names–who were at one point considered to be among the most beautiful women in the world at different periods of time, and how hard it is for them emotionally. So I hope Gisele is prepared for that, because it’s so difficult.”

And, just for fun, here is one of the more awkward moments in the interview:

Brady: By the way, how many times?
Ford: Say that again?
Brady: How many times have you worked with [Gisele].
Ford: Oh God! I thought you meant how many times did I sleep with her. I was about to say ‘Never.’ You sounded so tough.

The Kate Moss Book is coming

Supermodel Kate Moss is the subject of a new tome that will be published in November, and which is edited by her former partner Jefferson Hack.

The cover of 'Kate: The Kate Moss Book' Photo: Rizzoli

Sadly, the book we're talking about isn't a tell-all autobiography penned by Moss herself; instead, it's a coffee table tome dedicated to her incredible body of work over the last 20 years.

The Kate Moss Book has been edited by Moss' former flame, father of her daughter Lila and editor of Dazed and Confused , Jefferson Hack, and close friend and casting director, Jess Hallett.

Moss has had a hand in the creation of the volume too, personally selecting the images she wanted to be included in order to create a publication that "spans the entirety of her unparalleled career, from model to fashion designer, and muse to icon."

Karl Lagerfeld sketches the Queen

Chanel creative director Karl Lagerfeld got busy with his pastels this afternoon to sketch Her Majesty's flotilla outfit - with a few 'modifications'.

That Karl Lagerfeld, he's a busy man and no mistake. Between preparations for his upcoming haute couture show Chanel's creative director found time in his diary to resume commentary duties for French TV channel France 2 's coverage of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee - a role that he first undertook for last year's royal wedding with characteristically cutting results.

But why have two jobs when you can have four? Voraciously tweeting his thoughts about the royal fashion to his social media fans all the while (sample: "For her role, for who she is, it is hard to imagine a different outfit that the Queen could have sported better"), his third hand - the one that wasn't holding the microphone or his mobile - got busy sketching Her Majesty in said outfit.

Lagerfeld, a confirmed royalist who admitted asking his parents to buy him his first television to watch Queen Elizabeth II's coronation, then proudly posted the result, complete with Union Flag background on Twitter.

It's a lovely pastel sketch in Lagerfeld's distinctive style, but we can't help but think he's played a little fast and loose with the Queen's senior designer Angela Kelly's designs adding a few fashionable 'flourishes' of his own.

Nor is it trimmed with all manner of gothic rufflery and frilly underskirts. And where are Her Majesty's trusty black handbag and crisp white gloves? Off with his head!
